What size of business does MAGE typically work with?
Owner-managed businesses with between five and fifty people, typically generating between £500k and £10m in revenue. The specific size matters less than the stage: the business is growing, the founder is still central to operations, and there is a clear gap between where the business is and where it could be with better operating discipline.
How long does a typical engagement last?
It depends on what the business needs. A focused diagnostic and action plan can be completed in a few days. An ongoing advisory retainer typically runs for three to twelve months. Most engagements sit somewhere in between: a defined piece of work with a clear scope and a clear outcome, followed by a decision about whether to continue.
Is the discovery call really free and without obligation?
Yes. Thirty minutes, no pitch deck, no invoice. MAGE asks about the business; you ask about MAGE. At the end, both parties decide whether to continue. If the fit is not right, Lucius will say so directly — and may suggest who would be a better fit.
How are engagements priced?
By engagement type: day rate for project and diagnostic work, fixed fee for defined deliverables, and a monthly retainer for ongoing advisory. All fees are agreed in advance and set out in plain language. See the Services page for indicative ranges.
Is the information I share kept confidential?
Entirely. MAGE works with a small number of businesses and treats every engagement as confidential. The information you share — about your business, your team, your finances — is used to help you and not shared outside that context. An NDA is available for any engagement where the client prefers one.
